TCP/IP Unleashed Second Edition
Amazon.com's review:
TCP/IP Unleashed is a comprehensive guide to many aspects of the TCP/IP protocols and their use. In addition to detailing the basic protocols, the book teaches you how to connect computers that are running a variety of operating systems, including the standard Microsoft offerings plus Linux, OS/2, Unix, and Mac OS. TCP/IP Unleashed also features a nice section on running a DNS server, a good discussion of connecting computers to the Internet over serial lines (SLIP/PPP), information about network management (and security), and much more. As an added bonus, the book's appendix contains an index that maps an application and/or a protocol to the appropriate RFC (Request for Comments) document. For the most part, the text is clear and easy to understand.
